Just a for fun topic. The world lost a great singer way to young though. She wasn't alive to realize her greatest hit.

I have no idea what a woo girl is. I admit she had a great voice but she never really resonated with me. I'll take Grace Slick from that era over Janis, 8 days a week. It's amazing how many from that era OD'd or chocked on their own puke. What a shame.

One of my favorite songs to work out to. I saw these guys in concert when they broke on the scene. I like the hair metal era a lot. That opening guitar riff is awesome. Ratt had 2 really good guitar players in their band. In fact, I like this opening riff so much, I made it my ringtone. Ha...Ha..

If a person likes real country music, you would not want to miss the Marty Stuart TV show that ran for like 10 years. Just a plethora of legends and great music every episode.
John Anderson and Seminole Wind at the 3:05 mark. Classic..

Kenny Vaughn and Marty on Guitar playing Merle Haggard. Damn...get me my beer. Marty played with Johnny Cash when Marty was only 14.

I like a lot of new/"modern" country. Mostly because it resembles rock more than current rock does (and I have a really shitty Slayer tattoo on my arm(Drunk at a party at 18 and some dude shows up with a tattoo gun, don't recommend it LOL))
I'm also not a huge fan of the more classical country as it's a little too twangy for me.
But it's funny to see that since this whole BS started with Jason Aldean his song skyrocketed to #1 in the charts. Leftists really don't seem to understand that attacking American values continues to blow up in their face.

I'm digging this song tonight. I heard it at the end of a documentary. First is a video with lyrics, then a live version. The lyrics are strong and the live version is tight. Sounds like he has a Jack Johnson influence.

New and really powerful country music. Not the canned, autotuned vocal crap.
The lyrics are solid.
I've been sellin' my soul, workin' all day Overtime hours for bullshit pay So I can sit out here and waste my life away Drag back home and drown my troubles away It's a damn shame what the world's gotten to For people like me and people like you Wish I could just wake up and it not be true But it is, oh, it is Livin' in the new world With an old soul These rich men north of Richmond Lord knows they all just wanna have total control Wanna know what you think, wanna know what you do And they don't think you know, but I know that you do 'Cause your dollar ain't shit and it's taxed to no end 'Cause of rich men north of Richmond I wish politicians would look out for miners And not just minors on an island somewhere Lord, we got folks in the street, ain't got nothin' to eat And the obese milkin' welfare Well, God, if you're 5-foot-3 and you're 300 pounds Taxes ought not to pay for your bags of fudge rounds Young men are puttin' themselves six feet in the ground 'Cause all this damn country does is keep on kickin' them down Lord, it's a damn shame what the world's gotten to For people like me and people like you Wish I could just wake up and it not be true But it is, oh, it is Livin' in the new world With an old soul These rich men north of Richmond Lord knows they all just wanna have total control Wanna know what you think, wanna know what you do And they don't think you know, but I know that you do 'Cause your dollar ain't shit and it's taxed to no end 'Cause of rich men north of Richmond I've been sellin' my soul, workin' all day Overtime hours for bullshit pay
