Shoplifting has been off the charts the last 3 to 4 years. In my area, where people make a good living and where many home prices are well over 1 million dollars, the grocery stores where I visit have seen a sharp influx of crime. I see people in our local store that I never saw before Covid. I can tell they don't live in this immediate area. It's disgusting the crime that is allowed to go on.
King Soopers, a division of Kroger, fired this employee for filming this event. I have been to this store many times.
I shop at this store weekly.

I went to our local grocery store twice yesterday. I saw an incident of shoplifting both times I went in. First one, a usual suspect was wearing a long sleeve black hoodie in 95 degree heat. The front pockets of the hoodie were loaded. His dirt bag girlfriend had a trash bag full of goodies while she was walking with him. Then they walked out the front of the store and bypassed the checkout area.
I own 200 shares of stock in Kroger. This shit makes my blood boil.

Unless we do something to change direction, things are going to continue to get worse and worse. Small changes are adding up.
